Preseason AAC Honors Pour In For UConn Women's Hoop Team
The University of Connecticut women's basketball team was showered with preseason honors at the AAC media day.

PHILADELPHIA/STORRS, CT — University of Connecticut senior guard Crystal Dangerfield was named the American Athletic Conference co-preseason player of the year and the Huskies were proclaimed the favorites to win the American Athletic Conference title.
The announcements were made at the league’s Media Day Monday.
UConn is 102-0 in the American since joining in 2013.

Dangerfield was selected to the preseason all-conference first team along with junior Megan Walker. Sophomore Christyn Williams was named to the second team.
Dangerfield was a 2019 American First Team selection and a conference all-tournament team member. She averaged 13.4 points and ranked second in UConn history with 225 assists in 2018-19.

Walker was selected to the 2019 American Third Team. She averaged 12.1 points and 6.7 rebounds per game as a sophomore in her first season as a starter.
Williams was the 2019 American Freshman of the Year and averaged 11.7 points and 3.2 rebounds per game.
UConn has had the conference player of the year in each of the last six seasons.
The Huskies are slated to host two exhibitions against Jefferson University on Nov. 3 and with Trevecca Nazarene on Nov. 6 before opening the season versus Cal on Nov. 10.
