On President's Day, You Can Honor Community Service

You Can Give Back to Your Community and "Pay It Forward" to Children by Donating Your Old, Unwanted Car, Boat or Bike

George Washington, the Father of our Country, and Abraham Lincoln were two of our greatest Presidents. They committed their lives to service to their countries and we honor their birthdays this week because their contributions to America created a legacy that continues today.

To give back to your community and honor the spirit of service to others, you can make a big difference in the life of a child – and help your community – by donating your vehicle to Donate Cars 4 Wishes which benefits Make-A-Wish Connecticut.

DC4W contributes donated funds that help grant wishes for children who are facing life-threatening medical conditions. You receive a tax deduction on your 2016 income taxes, you dispose of an unwanted or unneeded vehicle – whether it’s running or not – and you give back to your community.

Make-A-Wish Connecticut has a great track record of granting wishes to children who want their wishes granted, but still there is a waiting list of children who want their wishes granted. By donating your vehicle, you help shorten the waiting list and help Make-A-Wish Connecticut make more wishes come true!

How Your Donation – of a Car, Truck, RV, Boat, or Motorcycle -- Can Help Your Community

Your donated car, truck, RV, boat, or motorcycle will be turned into granted wishes for children and a granted wish enriches not only the child, but also the surrounding community.

That’s because wishes can bring communities together. Many times the stories of children who have had wishes granted have touched so many hearts and galvanized the community in support of the Wish child or others.

By donating your vehicle, you can help grant even more amazing wishes and it is easy to give back to your community in a meaningful way:

1) Fill out a donation form online at www.dc4w.org or call 24/7 at (844)WISH-123

2) DC4W will call the donor on the same or the next business day to schedule pick-up

3) In 2-3 weeks the donor will receive their tax-deductible receipt in the mail

It’s easy to be an ‘everyday hero’ by donating your vehicle to benefit Connecticut children because it really is as simple as a phone call or a quick visit online!

DC4W, a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit serving the entire state of Connecticut, is headquartered in Glastonbury with offices in Windham.
