Roundup of Suspects in Mansfield Attempted Murder Case Now Totals 4​​

A Canterbury man was arrested on Tuesday, state police said. ​

MANSFIELD, CT - A fourth person has been charged in relation to an attempted murder investigation dating back to April, state police said.

The incident was disturbance during which a woman was shot, state police said. State police have termed the incident an attempted murder.

Ernest Kinsler, 28, of Canterbury, was charged on Tuesday with the criminal possession of a firearm, state police said. Troopers from the Eastern District Major Crimes Squad picked up Kinsler in his car in Willimantic at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, according to an arrest report.

State police said they found a bullet in his car and since Kinsler is a convicted felon, that makes it illegal.

The vehicle and bullet were confiscated as evidence, state police said.

Court records indicate Kinsler has seven convictions since 2008.

Kinsler's arrest stems from a large disturbance on April 6 on Spring Hill Road in Mansfield, state police said. The call came in a 8:02 p.m. and when police arrived, most of the people involved had dispersed, but those remaining were uncoopereative, according to a state police report.

State police received a call from Willimantic police a short time later indicating a woman was at the Windham Hospital emergency room with a head "laceration" that was caused by a gunshot, according to a report.

The first to be arrested for the incident was Dalia Acosta, 34, of Willimantic. She was taken into custody on July 1 and charged with witness intimidation, evidence tampering and interfering with an officer, according to law enforcement records.

State police made two related arrests on July 6. Michele Martinez, 47, of Willimantic, was charged with interfering and witness intimidation and Maria Fiascanaro, 28, of Mansfield, was charged with second-degree false statement, evidence tampering and interfering, state police said.
