Scams Circulating For Mansfield Drive-In Giveaways
Fake contest receipts have been posted on social media regarding Mansfield drive-in prize contests.

MANSFIELD, CT β Officials from the Mansfield Drive-in Theatre & Marketplace are warning customers about scams related to popular giveaways on social media.
"Hello everyone, we are being proactive here as the last few weeks we have had issues with fake scammer profiles pretending to be us on our giveaway posts. Please be careful," a social media warning said late last week.
Drive-in officials suggested that customers not click on any links or give out any personal information.

"If you have won the giveaway we will message you and will never ask for any credit card or personal information," drive-in officials said.
The scam "pages" often have "no likes or follows" and have a misspelling in the name of the drive-in, officials said.

A typical giveaway is a chance via the drive-in Facebook page to win a free carload pass. Customers are asked to like the post, comment with which screen they want to see and share the post to their personal your pages. Winners are typically chosen and announced on Friday.
Customers were quick to respond to the warning.
"Almost did it ... thought I actually got lucky and won," one customer said.
Another said, "Thank you for the heads up. I was, like, 'Is this real or fake?'"
Drive-in officials added, "Report them if you see it."
