Scooter Driver Airlifted To Hospital After Crash In Mansfield

MANSFIELD, CT β€” A scooter driver traveling on state Route 195 Saturday was airlifted to Hartford Hospital after tangling with a luxury sedan.

The crash took place 10:05 a.m. Saturday, state police said.

According to a crash report, a BWS Ascend scooter being driven by a 40-year-old Norwich man was heading south on Route 195, just north of the intersection with Puddin Lane. An Audi Q7 being driven by a 21-year-old Storrs Center man was traveling eastbound on Puddin Lane and began turning left turn onto Route 195 when the scooter struck it on the driver's side door, according to a crash report.

The scooter driver suffered serious injuries and was transported by Life Star helicopter to Hartford Hospital, according to a crash report.

This crash remained under investigation Monday.
