MANSFIELD, CT — An altercation at a business at the East Brook Mall in Mansfield led to three charges against a 33-year-old Windham man, state police said.

Alexander Carlos Vargas was charged with first-degree criminal trespass, interfering with police and second-degree breach of peace following an altercation at Famous Footwear, according to an arrest report.

The incident took place just after 5 p.m. on Aug, 24, state police said.

Police were summoned to the store at 95 Storrs Road after receiving a call about an irate customer who was yelling at store staff members.

Security staffers managed to get him out of the store and he at first refused to identify himself when met by state police outside, according to an arrest report. He was also argumentative during questioning, according to an arrest report.
