Special Weather Statement Issued for Mansfield
The National Weather Service is cautioning about the potential for some storms and possible flooding concerns.

The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement, Hazardous Weather Outlook and an Air Quality Alert for Hartford and Tolland counties.
In a “Special Weather Statement” issued for the area, the National Weather Service states, “Scattered thunderstorms may bring a localized flood threat to portions of (the area.”
“Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon. Very heavy rainfall will be the primary threat with the potential for localized rainfall rates up to 2 inches per hour, which may result in flooding… There is also a low risk of an isolated severe storm with strong to damaging winds … but heavy rainfall is the primary threat.”

The Air Quality Alert is also in effect from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday which means that “ground level ozone within the region may approach or exceed unhealthy standards,” the National Weather Service states.

Timing of the possibly stormy weather:
Showers and thunderstorms are possible after 10 a.m. and some hail is also possible. Temps will be near 91 degrees. There is a chance for stormy weather until 10 p.m.
On Friday, some showers and storms are possible between 1-3 p.m. with temps near 90 degrees. More storms are likely late Friday with up to a half inch of rain possible.
And yes, once again more storms are possible on Saturday and some heavy rain is possible during the day, according to the weather service. There is also a slight chance for some showers on Sunday too, but the sun should still be out too.
