Speeding Incident On UConn Campus Leaves Driver With DUI Charge
State police said a reckless and drunken driving incident early Sunday morning created a dangerous situation.

STORRS, CT — A woman who state police said was speeding around the University of Connecticut campus early Sunday morning was arrested in a drunken driving incident, state police said.
At 4:04 a.m. Sunday, a state trooper was on a motor vehicle enforcement detail on Storrs Road — state Route 195 — when a black Chevrolet Equinox heading south toward the University of Connecticut campus was clocked with a laser unit at 65 mph in a posted 40 MPH zone, according to an incident report.
While attempting to catch up to the sport utility vehicle, the trooper saw the driver speed through the UConn campus in excess of 50 mph, according to an incident report. The area of the campus is known to have pedestrian traffic at all hours of the day and night and has a posted speed limit of 25 mph, state police said.
