The bust was part of ongoing state police drug enforcement efforts in eastern Connecticut.

State police intercepted a sizable stash of heroin on Wednesday in their continuing drug enforcement efforts in eastern Connecticut.

State police have said they have been concentrating on some relay points that could lead to drugs being distributed to the rest of the state and at about 9 p.m. on Wednesday, members of the Troop D Quality of Life Task Force and a Troop D patrol Trooper conducted a traffic stop on a 2012 Hyundai Elantra for a traffic violation.

The traffic stop occurred on Route 171 in Woodstock near Peake Brook Road.
