State Police Looking for Man Who Held Up Chaplin Store
The robber made off with money from the Stop and Go in Chaplin.

CHAPLIN, CT — State police are looking for a stocky man wearing shades who held up a Route 6 convenience store Thursday morning.
Troopers were called to the 17 Willimantic Road store at 6:30 a.m. That is the local address for the section of Route 6, state police said.
A store clerk told troopers that a white male entered the store, walked up tot eh counter and demanded money, according to a news release. The man did not display a weapon, but implied he had one, state police said.

He exited the store with an undisclosed amount of money and was last seen heading west on Route 6 onj a green sport motorcycle, state police said. State police released a security camera image of the man, who is being described as between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-11 with a stocky build and a beard.
State police said he was wearing sunglasses, a black long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans, black sneakers and a black knit skull cap.

The Back Door Cafe at 9 Willimantic Road was broken into overnight, state police said.
