State Tournament Play to Open for E.O. Smith

STORRS, CT — Cross country is over, swimming brackets will be announced later this week and football still has three games to go, but four other sports begin their state tournaments over the next three days, with all involving teams from E.O. Smith High School.

Listed in order of better seeds, here is the upcoming tournament schedule for Panther teams:

• boys soccer (L): No. 33 Bristol Eastern at No. 1 E.O. Smith, Mon., 11/6, 4 p.m.
• girls volleyball (L): No. 24 Windsor at No. 9 E.O. Smith, Mon., 11/6, 4 p.m.
• field hockey (M): No. 15 E.O. Smith at No. 2 Daniel Hand, Tues., 11/7, 4 p.m.
• girls soccer (L): No. 21 E.O. Smith at No. 12 Watertown, Tues., 11/7, 2 p.m.

• girls volleyball: 0-2
• field hockey: 2-0 (last title, 1977)
