STORRS, CT β€” A student who died at a University of Connecticut housing complex Jan. 26 has been identified by school officials.

At no time was the incident treated as suspicious, authorities said.

In response to a Freedom of Information request from Patch, UConn officials identified there student as Joy Iwuagwu, 19, a sophomore in UConn's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Records show that UConn first responders were called to the North Residence area at 1:25 p.m. on Jan. 26 for a medical emergency. Responders were led to a room and a resident was then found unresponsive, UConn spokeswoman Stephanie Reitz said.

She was taken to Windham hospital and pronounced dead a short time later, she said.
