Teen Charged After Theft At E.O. Smith High School

A teenager was charged after backpacks were rummaged through at E.O. Smith High School, state police said.

STORRS, CT — A 14-year-old has been charged with larceny for allegedly rummaging through belongings at E.O. Smith High School, state police said.

State police released the details of the Oct. 5 incident this week.

State police were called to the school that day ay 2:14 p.m. The 14-year-old is accused of going through backpacks and other belongings and stealing money and a debit card, according to a report.

The teen is scheduled to appear in Willimantic Juvenile Court on Oct. 25 to answer sixth-degree larceny and payment card theft charges, according to a report.
