Teen Charged With Assault After Mansfield Hotel Incident

A woman reported an assault to police.

MANSFIELD, CT — A Boston teen is accused of roughing up another teen at a local hotel on Friday, state police said.

At 1:36 a.m. state police went to the University of Connecticut Police Department to meet a woman who was reporting an assault, according to an arrest report.

The woman, who is listed as being 19 and from Mansfield in a police report, told police she was restrained and assaulted as she tried to leave a room at the Best Western on Route 195 after breaking up with a man, according to an arrest report.

State police then charged 19-year-old Yihao Shi, of Boston, with second-degree unlawful restraint, third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

He was to appear in court later Friday, state police said.
