Teen Covered Smoke Detectors, Sprinklers at UConn Complex to Smoke: Cops
He is accused of tampering with fire equipment.

STORRS, CT — A New York teen is scheduled to appear before a judge on Nov. 8 to explain why he covered up the smoke detector and sprinklers in a University of Connecticut dorm room so he and his buddies could smoke cigarettes, an arrest report indicates.
Hoanan Yu, 18, of Buffalo NY, was arrested at 11:38 .m. on Oct. 27 after other residents at the towers housing complex complained of cigarette smoke, UConn police said.
The cops entered the dorm room and found the smoke detector covered in plastic and bags over the sprinklers, according to an arrest report.
