Tour De Mansfield Set for June

The 13th Annual John E. Jackman Tour de Mansfield is set for next month.

MANSFIELD, CT — The Town of Mansfield, Mansfield Downtown Partnership, and Mansfield Community Center are inviting bicyclists to participate in the 13th Annual John E. Jackman Tour de Mansfield on Saturday, June 9,

The rain date is Sunday, June 10.

The John E. Jackman Tour de Mansfield features three different routes for cyclists of varying experience
levels to explore Mansfield's historic villages,* scenic roads, and vibrant downtown.

The Town of Mansfield, Mansfield Community Center, and Mansfield Downtown Partnership host this ride
annually in celebration of John E. Jackman, who served the Town for twenty-seven years and was a strong
advocate for cycling in Mansfield.

This year’s participants have three routes from which to choose: a 7-Mile Campus Cruise, a 20-Mile ride,
and a 38-Mile ride. The 20-Mile and 38-Mile routes feature a mix of local roads and a few brief stints on state
routes, while the Campus Cruise will take riders over both bike paths and local and UConn roads.
All rides will begin and end at the Mansfield Community Center (10 S. Eagleville Road). Riders of each group
will begin together and then proceed at their own pace.

All participants must wear a helmet and follow basic bicycle safety and the rules of the road. Road riding
experience is strongly recommended. Older children with road riding experience are welcome to ride with
an adult.

Registration for the John E. Jackman Tour de Mansfield is required, and pre-registration is strongly
encouraged. Participants who register on or before June 6 will pay $30; after June 6 registration is $35.
Children under 18 ride for free. Registration includes snacks, ride support, and lunch. The first 100 adults
to sign-in on the day of the event will receive a commemorative t-shirt.
