UConn Announces 2019 Commencement Speakers

The University of Connecticut has announced its 2019 commencement speakers.

STORRS, CT — The University of Connecticut has announced its lineup of 2019 commencement speakers and it ranges from a lawyer who has been before the Supreme Court to a lawmaker to an actor to an award winning composer to business leaders.

Graduation ceremonies are slated for later this month.

  • College of Agriculture, Health, and Natural Resources, May 11, 6 p.m., Gampel Pavilion. Speaker: Indrajeet Chaubey, dean of CAHNR.
  • College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, May 12, 12:30 p.m. and 5 p.m., Gampel Pavilion. Speaker and Honorary Degree Recipient: William Julius Wilson, Harvard University professor.
  • Graduate SchoolMaster’s Ceremony, May 11, 1:30 p.m., Gampel Pavilion. Honorary Degree Recipient: Joseph Schwantner, Pulitzer Prize-winning American composer.
