UConn Calling It An Early Day Thursday With Snow Expected
UConn is canceling classes at most campuses in anticipation of Thursday snow.

STORRS, CT — In anticipation of afternoon snow, the University of Connecticut is canceling classes as of 3:30 p.m. Thursday at all campuses except UConn Health.
Non-essential employees are also being dismissed at that time, while essential employees (public safety, facilities maintenance, dining hall workers, etc.) are reporting as usual.
UConn officials said they are "taking this step as a precaution because forecasts suggest that the fastest snowfall could occur during the afternoon commute."

They added, "Our campuses have thousands of people coming and going at that time, including staff members leaving for the day, commuting students and faculty arriving for night classes, on-campus students walking to class, and so forth. Canceling classes after 3:30 p.m. will help minimize vehicle and pedestrian traffic at that otherwise busy time, allowing UConn’s crews to clear the roads and sidewalks more quickly and safely."
UConn Health’s status can be found at health.uconn.edu/closing-and-cancellations.
