UConn Coaches Elected to Connecticut Field Hockey Hall of Fame

They will join seven other individuals to be inducted into the Hall of Fame on Sunday, Sept. 16.

STORRS, CT — A pair of coaches who have helped build a field hockey powerhouse at the University of Connecticut will join seven other honorees as members of the Class of 2018 of the Connecticut Field Hockey Hall of Fame.

Associate head coach Paul Caddy and assistant coach Cheri (Herr) Schulz, who both joined the staff of head coach Nancy Stevens in 2001, are being inducted in the college coach category.

Since coming on board, Caddy and Schulz have helped the Huskies to national championships in 2013, 2014 and 2017. UConn has won 12 Big East tournament championships and 11 Big East regular season titles during their tenure, making 16 straight appearances in the NCAA tournament and 10 trips to the Final Four.

Other honorees are:

  • Lisa (Scavotto) Capogna, Enfield High School, high school player
  • Heather (Waters) Casinghino, Nonnewaug High School, high school player
  • Jennifer (Martha) McCallum, Cheshire High School, high school player
  • Sharon Eifes Lawrence, Canton/Boston University, college player
  • Sandy Wickman Mason, Granby Memorial High School, high school coach
  • Nelle Jennings Andrews, Farmington High School, honorary
  • Dani Brown, Norwalk, umpire
