UConn has tested 380 early-return students who came back in advance of Friday’s freshman move-in, mostly resident assistants (RAs), dining services workers and student athletes. Those results came back within 24 hours, with all testing negative.

Other students are being tested today and over the weekend as they return to move into residence halls and begin a two-week period of self-quarantine with their cohorts (suitemates, roommates, etc.) before classes start Aug. 31.

Of the 1,720 tested employees and 380 tested students, all had negative test results as Thursday, the most recent full figures compiled. UConn will continue to provide updates as more results are received and compiled.

In all, about 5,500 students will live at Storrs and about 265 will live in student housing at Stamford, where they will be tested early next week. In a typical year, UConn has more than 12,300 students living at Storrs and about 450 at Stamford.
