UConn Legends Rowe Awarded, Lobo Nominated by Basketball Hall of Fame
The Basketball Hall of Fame made the announcement Saturday.
SPRINGFIELD, MA — Donald "Dee" Rowe, generally considered to the be the father of UConn basketball, has been named the 2017 John Bunn Lifetime Achievement winner by the Basketball Hall of Fame and UConn women's hoop legend Rebecca Lobo has been nominated for induction as a contributor.
Hall of Fame officials made the announcement Saturday on Twitter.
Rowe was the University of Connecticut men's head coach from 1969 to 1977 and was an athletic department staff member for 48 years.

Lobo was a member of the 1995 UConn women's national title team and the gold medal-winning US national team in 1996.
She is a broadcaster and UConn Board of Trustees member. Lobo was inducted into the women's hall of fame in 1997.
