Fans can vote for their favorite school once per day until voting ends on Aug. 1.

STORRS, CT — The University of Connecticut has been nominated for the USA Today 10 Best Readers' Choice poll in the best college sports fans category.

Here is an overview:

"For athletes and non-athletes alike, the college experience – with its mascots, marching bands, and longstanding traditions – often breeds lifelong loyalty in fans. These 20 American colleges and universities have been nominated by an expert panel for offering the best experience for sports fans. Which college do you think offers the best fan experience?"

According to the USA Today Readers' Choice rules, fans can vote for their favorite school once per day until voting ends at noon eastern time on Aug. 1.

The 10 schools with the most votes will be announced on Sept. 1.

"There's nothing like being a student in Storrs!" UConn officials Tweeted while promoting the contest.

Even Gov. Ned Lamont chimed in.

"I mean, it's quite obvious which college has the best sports fans …" he Tweeted.
