UConn-Oklahoma Set For Hoop Hall Of Fame Showcase

STORRS, CT — The University of Connecticut women’s basketball team is slated to face Oklahoma in the sixth annual Basketball Hall of Fame Women’s Showcase on Sunday, Dec. 22 at Mohegan Sun Arena.

The announcement was made by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Thursday.

"The Basketball Hall of Fame is proud to celebrate the women’s game with our sixth annual Women’s Showcase at a beautiful venue in Mohegan Sun," said John L. Doleva, President and CEO of the Hall of Fame. "UConn fans have been treated to some exceptional performances in this event over the years, and we know our three additional participating schools will enjoy the first-class environment as well."

UConn head coach Geno Auriemma added, "Our fans always have a great turnout at Mohegan Sun Arena, and I don’t expect any different for this year’s Basketball Hall of Fame Showcase. This is our sixth-straight time competing in this game, and I think it will be a great atmosphere and great event against Oklahoma."

The Women’s Showcase is one event in the Hall of Fame’s series of collegiate events, which continues to grow in an effort to celebrate the game outside the museum walls. The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame is proud to continue its relationship with Learfield IMG College for sponsorship representation of its portfolio of collegiate events.

General public tickets will go on sale Friday, Sept. 6.
