UConn Police Seize Heroin After Traffic Stop
The case started with a headlight violation, police said.

MANSFIELD, CT — University of Connecticut police seized heroin and paraphernalia related to heroin use after a traffic stop 43 minutes before 2016 ended, according to a report.
UConn police noticed a Volkswagen Jetta with headlight out and pulled it over on North Eagleville Road, according to a report.
The occupants of the car were overly apologetic and then a passenger tried to conceal a metal box near the floor, according to a report.

The box contained traces of heroin, syringes and other heroin-related equipment, police said.
Kristen Sawyer, 25, of Mountain Road, Mansfield, was charged for possessing the drugs and paraphernalia, police said. She has a court date of Jan. 11, police said.
