UConn Police: Teen Throws Blanket Over Woman, Throws Her to Floor

A teen is facing an assault charge after a UConn dorm incident.

STORRS, CT — A teen is facing an assault charge after a wild domestic incident in which he allegedly threw a woman to the ground after throwing a blanket over her head in a University of Connecticut housing unit, according to a UConn police report.

Tamir Hornesby, 18, of Bristol, is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 26, according to a police report. He has been charged with third-degree assault, disorderly conduct and interfering with an emergency call, UConn police said.

At 2:29 a.m. on Sept. 12, UConn police responded to Allen Hall for an assault complaint. According to a report, a woman told officers that Hornesby grabbed her wrist and she retaliated with pepper spray, according to a report.

Hornesby then pulled a blanket off the woman's bed, threw it over her head and pushed her to the floor, according to a report.

The woman managed to get to her feel and attempted to call 911, but Hornesby swiped the phone out of her hand, according to a report.
