UConn Profs Hosting Eclipse Viewing Party Next Week
UConn Has a good viewing spot for the solar eclipse.

STORRS, CT β The University of Connecticut physics department has scheduled viewing party for next week's solar eclipse.
Professors Cara Battersby, Jonathan Trump and Kate Whitaker will be on hand during the eclipse.
The viewing party of slated for Aug. 21 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Horsebarn Hill next to the UConn Dairy Bar, weather permitting.

At the Horsebarn Hill coordinates, the solar eclipse begins at 1:25 p.m. and ends at 4 p.m., the professors said.
Maximum (partial) occultation will occur at 2:45 p.m., they said.

The event is free.
Solar telescopes, a pinhole camera activity, and a short public lecture will be featured in a program designed for all ages.
