STORRS, CT — The University of Connecticut has "re-established" various services to assist off-campus and commuter students, under the guidance of Associate Dean of Students John Armstrong and Assistant Dean of Students David D’Alessandro.

"UConn is dedicated to supporting students and community members with the diverse aspects of off-campus living," school officials said.

Off-campus and commuter services will be available to students at UConn Storrs, regional campuses, and all professional schools, by contacting the Dean of Students Office.

  • Collaborating with the Town of Mansfield and other municipalities on matters related to student living in the community. The move involves working with town officials, police agencies, building and housing inspectors, planning and zoning officials, and community members.
  • Offering outreach and education to off-campus students on being respectful neighbors and communicating how their actions impact the community and those around them.
  • Serving as a point of contact for students seeking advice on off-campus housing and commuter issues through the Dean of Students Office.
  • Holding regular meetings with property managers near the Storrs campus and maintaining an Off-Campus Housing website as a resource for students seeking or residing in rental housing.
