UConn Restraint, Assault Incident Leads to Charges: Cops
Police charged two people in an early Sunday morning assault case.

STORRS, CT — Two people are accused of teaming up to beat up a student at the University of Connecticut early Sunday night inside a campus residence hall.
Kiara Bennett, 19, of New Britain and a UConn student, along with Imani Pennant, 22, of Florida and also a student, were charged with second-degree criminal trespass, second-degree breach of peace and third-degree assault, an arrest report indicates.
The two are accused of entering Belden Hall at 2:11 a.m. Sunday, police said. According to an arrest report, Pennant restrained people while Bennett was assaulting someone.

Pennant was also charged with second-degree unlawful restraint, according to an arrest report.
Penn at posted a $5,000 bond and Bennett posted a $10,000 bond and both are due in court on April 3, police records indicate.
