UConn Student Hit By Car Outside University Safety Complex
The student was taken to Hartford Hospital for treatment, where he is conscious and alert, a university spokesperson said.

MANSFIELD, CT — A University of Connecticut student was injured Saturday when he was struck by a vehicle outside the college's safety complex, according to a university spokesperson.
The incident happened shortly after 1 a.m. in front of the facility on North Eagleville Road, the spokesperson said in a statement. Authorities interviewed witnesses who said the student walked in front of the vehicle, which did not have time to stop.
The driver is not affiliated with the university, the spokesperson said. Authorities have not released the name of the driver or the student.
