STORRS, CT β€” The University of Connecticut has scheduled tests for its emergency notification and alerting system next week.

The UConnALERT system run-through for all campuses is on tap for Tuesday (Sept. 12) at 12:25 p.m. UConn officials said the test involves multiple messaging platforms.

A notice will be posted on the UConn Alert website (alert.uconn.edu); an email will be sent to all students, faculty, and staff; and posts will appear on the University's Facebook and X (formerly known as Twitter) accounts, officials said.

On the Storrs campus only, outdoor sirens will be tested with an "audible tone."

The test includes emergency notifications at UConn Health in addition to the Storrs and regional campuses, officials said.

In an actual emergency, information will be updated regularly through the UConn Alert website at alert.uconn.edu, officials said. Students, faculty, and staff should visit the site to register for cell phone text alerts, update their contact information, and obtain information related to emergency procedures and campus safety.
