UConn Women's Basketball Coach Geno Auriemma Back At Work, Feeling Better
Auriemma was at a USA Basketball event on Wednesday.

STORRS, CT - Geno is back to being Geno.
Yes, University of Connecticut women's basketball coach Geno Auriemma was back to work Wednesday. He wasn't in Storrs, but in New York handling a USA Basketball event.
"But he's back and he's OK," UConn team spokesman Pat McKenna said. He would not say any more, mentioning it was a personal thing with Auriemma, but when asked jokingly if "Geno's fluids were back?" he said, "yes."
Auriemma said he is much better after a three-day hospital stay about a week-and-a-half ago, according to the Greenwich Time via the Associated Press.
The 62-year-old Auriemma said he started feeling rundown at the Final Four. It then became worse after UConn won its 11th national title, he said.
Auriemma has said he was on a plane on April 16, ready to head to Chicago, but left before takeoff because he was not feeling well.
He did make it to the recent WNBA draft and said he plans to still coach the U.S. Olympic team this summer, as evidence by today's appearance, UConn officials said.
He told NBC Connecticut’s Kevin Nathan on Wednesday that he’s doing well now.
“It was a two-week period that was really a struggle. I thought I had it figured out and started doing things too soon and got a relapse,” Auriemma said. “Maybe it was the best thing that happened because it forced me to do nothing and finally, I feel great.”
Several UConn sources said Auriemma had been somewhat dehydrated after the national title game and his busy schedule wore him out.
When asked how Auriemma is doing on Wednesday, UConn administrators declined comment.
