UConn's Chris Dailey Wins Major 'Character' Award
UConn women's basketball associate head coach Chris Dailey was selected as a 2019 recipient of a major 'character' award.

STORRS, CT — University of Connecticut women’s basketball associate head coach Chris Dailey was selected as a 2019 recipient of the Joe Lapchick Character Award.
In its 12th year, the Lapchick Award, administered by a foundation, recognizes those who have shown the character traits of Lapchick, the member of the Original Celtics who coached at St. John’s and the New York Knickerbockers.
Dailey has been instrumental in leading UConn to 11 NCAA Championships and 20 Final Fours. Last summer, she was one of the first assistant coaches selected to the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame.

Dailey earns the honor alongside former Georgia Tech coach Bobby Cremins and CBS announcer Verne Lundquist. The trio will be honored at a luncheon on Sept. 20 in New York.
