STORRS, CT — University of Connecticut women's basketball freshman guard Caroline Ducharme underwent successful surgery on her left hip Thursday.

The procedure repaired an injury she sustained prior to coming to UConn, a team spokeswoman said.

Ducharme will begin a rehabilitation program Friday and will be ready for the 2022-23 preseason, officials said.

An All-Big East Second Team and Freshman Team selection this season, Ducharme averaged 9.8 points and 3.2 rebounds per game in her rookie campaign. She played in 31 games with 11 starts.
