UConn's Quinonez, The Big East Top Freshman, Undergoes Surgery
Quiñonez was named the 2026 Big East Freshman and Sixth Woman of the Year.
STORRS, CT – University of Connecticut women's basketball sophomore forward Blanca Quiñonez underwent successful surgery to repair a torn labrum on her left shoulder Monday at UConn Health, team officials said.
Quiñonez was named the 2026 Big East Freshman and Sixth Woman of the Year.
She averaged 10.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 2.0 steals per game in 31 appearances in her rookie season.
