Vehicles Collide Head-On In Mansfield Crash

A carload of people escaped serious injury when two vehicles collided head-on last week in Mansfield, state police said.

MANSFIELD, CT — A carload of people escaped serious injury when two vehicles collided head-on last week in Mansfield, state police said.

The crash took place at 10:34 p.m. Nov. 8.

According to a state police report, one vehicle with five people in it was heading east on Route 275 near the Maple Street intersection when another car with just the driver aboard crossed into its lane at a high rate of speed and hit it head-on.

Three of the five in the first car received minor injuries and the driver of the wayward car was not hurt, according to a state police report. The driver was, however, charged with reckless endangerment, "reckless speed," and and failure to drive right.
