WEATHER UPDATE: Severe Weather Forecast For Mansfield, Storrs
The National Weather Service is predicting stormy weather on Tuesday and there are two more chances for thunderstorms in the forecast.

There is the potential for it to be another stormy day on Tuesday as the National Weather Service has issued βHazardous Weather Outlooksβ and a βSpecial Weather Statementβ for a majority of the state.
The greatest chance for severe weather is predicted for Hartford and Tolland counties.
The National Weather Service writes, βa few strong to severe thunderstorms are possible between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. this evening.β The best chance for severe weather is in northern Connecticut, the weather service writes in its early morning advisory.

Damaging wind gusts, hail, heavy rain, and lightning are all possible.
A Hazardous Weather Outlook is in effect for northern Fairfield, northern New Haven, and northern Middlesex counties.

There is a chance of thunderstorms producing damaging winds and or large hail this afternoon and early evening, the National Weather Service writes.
For areas along the immediate coastline, southern Fairfield, southern New Haven, and New London counties there is still a chance of severe weather.
Showers and thunderstorms are possible between 11-5, and there is a greater chance of severe weather between 5 p.m. and up until 7 p.m. tonight.
And of course more stormy weather is forecast for Thursday and Saturday.
Hereβs the latest Mansfield hyperlocal forecast from the National Weather Service:
- Today: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 2pm. Some of the storms could produce small hail, gusty winds, and heavy rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 76. South wind 10 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
- Tonight: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 8pm. Some of the storms could produce small hail, gusty winds, and heavy rain. Patchy fog after 5am. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 59. West wind 3 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
- Wednesday: Patchy fog before 7am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 81. Calm wind becoming southwest 5 to 7 mph in the morning.
- Wednesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 61. South wind around 6 mph.
- Thursday: A slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 86. Southwest wind 6 to 8 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
- Thursday night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9pm, then a slight chance of showers between 9pm and 11pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 62. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
