Wild 911 Call At Mansfield Election Night Break-In Leads To Arrest
A scene at a home in Mansfield led to an Election Night arrest, state police said.

MANSFIELD, CT β An Election Night break-in at a home in Mansfield has left a man facing multiple charges, state police said.
At 7:32 p.m. Tuesday, state police at the Troop C barracks received a 911 call from a resident saying a man was outside, banging on doors and attempting to gain entry to the house, according to an incident report. The caller said the man eventually entered the home through a basement door and then the call went quiet, according to an incident report.
When they arrived at the scene, troopers located the man in the home and detained him, according to an incident report. He was subsequently identified as 37-year-old Mansfield resident Keith Haddad, who had been directed by State Police earlier in the day to leave the property and not return. State police said he returned to confront the resident about the incident which had occurred earlier in the day.

Haddad caused, "significant damage to the basement doorway," according to an incident report.
According to an incident report, Haddad also made his way to the upper level of the home, broke through a bedroom door there, and the resident suffered a minor arm injury, according to an incident report.

Haddad is also accused of pushing the resident against a wall and continued yelling before grabbing the phone connected to the 911 call and throwing it, rendering it inoperable, according to an incident report.
Residents of the home were able to run past Haddad and make it to a neighbor's home, according to an incident report.
At 7:45 p.m., Haddad was placed under arrest and transported to Troop C, where he was charged with:
- Disorderly conduct
- Interfering with a 911 call
- Second-degree criminal mischief
- Home invasion
- First-degree burglary
- First-degree criminal trespass
Haddad was held overnight on a $30,000 cash/surety bond, which he failed to post at his arraignment in Rockville Superior Court the following day. He remained in custody Thursday and is due back in court on Dec. 13.
