The Willimantic Orchestra Spring Concert: "Poetic License"
Sunday, April 17, 2016 3:00pm; Concert Hall – FAIC, High Street on ECSU Willimantic, CT
On Sunday, April 17, 2016, the Willimantic Orchestra, a community based orchestra, will present its free Spring Concert: "Poetic License" in the Concert Hall of the NEW Fine Arts Instructional Center on the ECSU campus. David Vaughan will conduct the orchestra. Admission is free. Mr. Vaughan has been conductor for 25 years and this concert will be hfinal concert, as conductor of the Willimantic Orchestra. Friends, fellow musicians, admirers, all are encouraged to attend this special performance. Reception to follow.
The program for the concert includes: Les Preludes by Franz Liszt; Pavanne bye Gabriel Faure; The Symphonic Metamorphosis by Paul Hindemith; Violin Concerto in C Op 48, Mvt 1, performed by Kayla De Caprio, winner of Windham Regional Arts Council Youth Musician Competition.
There will be a reception to honor Mr. Vaughan. David is a alumnus of UCONN, resident of Mansfield and teaches in the Killingly Public Schools. Come celebrate 25 years of association with the Willimantic Orchestra.

The Willimantic Orchestra is a not-for-profit community orchestra, providing access to free live classical music. The casual, friendly atmosphere encourages families, adults, and children. to "come as you are" - fancy dress is not required.
