1 Hospitalized After Shooting In Meriden: Police
Police are investigating a daytime shooting in Meriden, according to officials.
MERIDEN, CT — A man was hospitalized after a shooting Monday afternoon in Meriden, according to police.
Police responded to a home on North First Street around 12:20 p.m. on the report of “shots fired,” according to officials.
One male victim, who was conscious, was found in the back of the residence with an apparent gunshot to the leg, police said. He was taken to the hospital, according to police.

“At this time police are working to identify potential witnesses, evidence and any surveillance footage that may be in the area,” police wrote in a news release. “At this time we believe that was not a random act and there is no immediate threat to the public. This is an active investigation and additional information will be released when available.”
