1 Killed, 1 Hospitalized After Shooting In Meriden: Police
Police are investigating a shooting death that happened Monday evening in Meriden, according to officials.
MERIDEN, CT — A man was killed and a woman was hospitalized with injuries that weren’t life-threatening after a shooting Monday in Meriden, according to police.
Police responded to the area of West Main Steet at Lewis Avenue around 6 p.m. on the report of shots fired, according to Lt. Darrin McKay.
Arriving officers found and a woman inside a parked vehicle in the immediate area, McKay said. A gun was also found inside the vehicle, according to McKay.

McKay said both victims had apparent gunshot wounds and medical assistance was dispatched immediately. The 30-year-old man, who McKay said won’t be identified at this time, died from his injuries at a nearby hospital.
The woman, who police also aren’t identifying, was hospitalized for treatment of injuries that weren’t life-threatening, according to McKay.

“Based upon our initial investigation thus far, we believe that all parties involved in this incident were known to each other, they have all been located, and that there is no further danger to the members of the community as a result of this incident,” McKay wrote in a news release. “This investigation is on-going and at this time this is all the information that can be shared.”
McKay also said that police at this time do not believe that there were two shooting scenes.
