1 Killed In Rollover Crash On I-691 In Meriden: State Police
One person was killed, and another hospitalized, after a rollover crash on I-691 in Meriden, according to Connecticut State Police.
MERIDEN, CT — One person was killed, and another hospitalized, after a rollover crash on I-691 in Meriden on Sunday night, according to Connecticut State Police.
The crash happened around 9:15 p.m. on April 30 in the area of Exit 3 on I-691 West.
Police said a 2011 Ford F350 pickup truck and a 2020 Ram 1500 pickup truck were traveling west when the driver of the Ram tried to pass the Ford on the left and collided with its driver side. After the collision, the Ram spun out of control across the road to the right, according to police.

The Ram collided with the cable barrier in the right shoulder and went down the embankment, rolled over and crashed into a tree, police said.
Javier Rosado-Toro, 35, of Waterbury, was ejected from the Ram during the rollover and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

The other occupant of the Ram, a 31-year-old woman from Florida, was hospitalized with serious injuries, police said.
The driver of the Ford wasn’t injured in the crash, according to police.
