2 Accused Of Threatening To Kill Man At Gunpoint: Meriden Police
The suspects "were startled at the presence of the police and jumped onto a moped," according to police.
MERIDEN, CT — Two men were arrested in connection with threatening a man at gunpoint Saturday night in Meriden, according to police.
Police responded to Wilcox Avenue around 10:20 p.m. on Sept. 16 on the report of a threatening with a gun.
The caller reported that there were multiple men wearing masks outside the house with guns and that they had just pointed a gun at her son and threatened to kill him, according to police.

“Upon arrival the males were startled at the presence of the police and jumped onto a moped,” police wrote in a news release. “They led the police on a brief pursuit until they were no longer to operate the moped. The men jumped off the moped and fled on foot. Officers were quickly able to apprehend one suspect while the other quickly disappeared.”
Police said the first suspect, identified as 25-year-old Adrian Cardona, was found to be in the possession of drug paraphernalia and narcotics. He was also found to be a “parole absconder,” according to police.

A Berlin Police K-9 team assisted with the search for the second suspect, and police said officers found a loaded gun and a hat.
Police said the second suspect, identified as 30-year-old Joshua Ayala, was ultimately found hiding from police. Ayala was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia, along with several packets of fentanyl, according to police.
Ayala was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, possession of a high capacity magazine, carrying a pistol without a permit, weapons in a motor vehicle, first-degree threatening, interfering with officer, second-degree breach of peace, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of drug paraphernalia, and operating a motor driven cycle without a license. He was held in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
Cardona was charged with second-degree breach of peace, interfering with officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and operating a vehicle with suspended license. He was held for parole, according to police.
