2 Arrested On Drug, Gun Charges In Meriden: Police
A man and a woman were arrested after trying to run away from police, officials said.

MERIDEN, CT — A man and a woman were arrested Tuesday on drug and gun charges in Meriden, according to police.
On Feb. 14, police followed up on several complaints regarding drug activity in the 200 block of Broad Street. An officer saw a silver sedan in the spot that was reported to have been involved in illegal drug activity, according to police.
Police said a man who was known to be an active drug user was seen leaning into the car window that was reported to be selling drugs. As the officer spoke with the man, police said he continued to look back at the vehicle and its occupants.

A man and a woman eventually got out of the vehicle and tried to run away, according to police.
The two then re-entered the vehicle, and came back out again with bags in their possession, police said. They then jumped over a wall and ran away after the officer told them to stop, according to police.

Police said the man was apprehended after a brief chase and the woman was found hiding in nearby bushes.
The man was identified as 39-year-old Jamie Carlson and police identified the woman as 24-year-old Mariah Dumaine.
Police said officers and detectives gathered evidence at the scene and the following items were recovered:
- 22 grams of crack cocaine
- 12.6 grams of fentanyl
- 47.9 grams of white powdered substance
- 26.8 grams of LSD
- 4 grams of “Psychejellies”
- 10, 8mg packages of Suboxone
- 10 pills believed to be Xanax
- 12 bags of heroin
- 1 bag and lock combination with a scale, wax baggies, plastic bags, and money
- 2 cell phones
- 1 Ruger .38 cal with 5 live rounds of ammunition
- 1 Beretta .22 caliber handgun with a magazine containing 7 live rounds and 59 loose rounds of ammunition
Carlson was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, possession with intent to sell hallucinogen, possession with intent to sell narcotics, possession with intent to sell non narcotic/ hallucinogen, possession of a controlled substance 3rd offense, possession of a hallucinogen, possession of narcotics, use of drug paraphernalia, interfering with an officer. Carlson was released after posting a $100,000 bond.
Dumaine was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, possession of a controlled substance (1st offense), use of drug paraphernalia, interfering with an officer. She was also charged with a warrant for a separate case, according to police
Dumaine was released after posting a $75,000 bond and a separate $2,500 bond for the warrant, according to police.
