2 Juveniles Arrested After Fleeing From Stolen Car: Meriden Police
Police said one of the juveniles has at least 12 previous arrests involving motor vehicle thefts.
MERIDEN, CT — Two juveniles were arrested early Tuesday morning after police said they were seen driving erratically through Meriden in a stolen vehicle.
Police said the vehicle was stolen in Massachusetts a few hours earlier.
The vehicle was found on Petit Drive and two juveniles were seen walking away from it, police said.

Both juvenile suspects ran away when police arrived and ignored instructions to stop, according to police. Both were apprehended and taken into custody, police said.
The first juvenile suspect was issued a juvenile summons for interfering with police and released to a relative, according to police.

Police said the second juvenile was found to be in possession of several items believed to be stolen property and evidence of additional crimes.
The juvenile was charged with first-degree larceny, using a motor vehicle without owner’s permission, interfering with an officer, possession of burglary tools and payment card theft.
The juvenile also had an active Take Into Custody order and was taken to a juvenile detention facility, according to police.
Police said the juvenile has an extensive history of motor vehicle theft related arrests, including at least 12 previous arrests over several jurisdictions. The juvenile is also a suspect in multiple other crimes, according to police.
“We would like to acknowledge the proactive police work of our officers to help recover a stolen motor vehicle for its owner and take a wanted juvenile into custody,” police wrote in a news release.
