

2015 Walk for Warmth 5K Run / 3K Walk - 3/28/2015
Presented by New Opportunities of Greater Meriden
Established in 1990, the Walk for Warmth 5K Run & 3K Walk is an annual event held each March to benefit an emergency heating assistance fund for families and the elderly living in Meriden, Wallingford, Southington, Berlin and Cheshire who have been impacted by financial hardship, such as a job loss or medical emergency.
In 2014, a USATF (USA Track and Field) sanctioned 5K race was incorporated into the event in celebration of the its 25th anniversary. The Walk for Warmth also holds the distinction of being the first 5K race ever to be held in downtown Meriden.

The event is pet friendly and features food, activities for children and an auction. The event is presented by New Opportunities Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

2015 Event:
The 2015 Walk for Warmth 5K Run & 3K Walk will be held on March 28, 2015 at 10am. Pre-registration is now open. Day of event pre-registration will begin at 9am. The event will begin at the First Congregational Church in Meriden, located at 62 Colony Street.
