40 Days of Worship

A few months ago I was invited to a pastor's gathering in Berlin and after some initial disappointments in my efforts to connect with local pastors and churches upon moving to Meriden in January I was very pleased to join pastors and ministry leaders from over 50 churches around Connecticut.
The vision was to come together for 40 days of worship across the state to worship together and pray for our state, our people, families, school and communities and to demonstrate the unity of people and purpose among our various Christ communities called "churches."
Along with Rev. Willie Young of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church and their congregation we are happy to be hosting Meriden's evening in the 40 Days of Worship this Monday, Sept. 23, at 7:00 PM in the FBC sanctuary on the 400 block of Broad just south of the intersection with Main.
We draw far too many lines and build barriers between different ethnic groups and between different people and different expressions of Christ's church; this evening is an opportunity to blur some of those lines and climb over or begin tearing down some of those barriers in a gathering of worship, celebration, Word and prayer. All welcome...there is limited street parking but off street parking in lots west of the church buildings and Stop and Shop allows parking for church functions in their lot. Hope to see you there. Shalom, Pastor Leon
