40-Plus Car Windows Smashed In Meriden: Police
Police said they responded to an "exorbitant amount" of complaints in which parked vehicles had their windows smashed out.
MERIDEN, CT — More than 40 car windows were smashed Wednesday night in Meriden, according to police.
Police responded to an “exorbitant amount of criminal mischief complaints in which parked vehicles had their windows smashed out,” according to officials.
“The vast majority of these vehicles were not entered and it appears as if the person or persons responsible were merely intent upon causing the damage,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “This activity occurred in several different areas all predominantly on the east side of the city. As calls did come in, officers responded to the area. A thorough search was conducted for any suspicious vehicles and/or persons; however, none were located. As officers searched a particular area, calls would come in from an entirely different area reporting similar activity.”
