MERIDEN, CT — Popular New Haven coffee store Willoughby’s will be opening a new location in Meriden this summer, the owners announced.
The new store will be the fifth Willoughby's Coffee & Tea location in Connecticut. Willoughby’s currently has two locations in New Haven, along with shops in Branford and Madison.
Willoughby’s announced the new Meriden shop as a “new chapter” for the business in a post on Facebook.
“We are proud to introduce our newest location, featuring a drive-through for your convenience, arriving in Meriden this summer,” the post reads. “Designed to bring the same thoughtfully crafted coffee experience you know and love, now with added ease and accessibility.
“We look forward to welcoming you soon.”
The Connecticut Scoop reports Willoughby's Coffee & Tea will open at 1133 East Main St. in Meriden in the new building that is under construction next to Popeyes.
A Starbucks had been eyed for the space, but the approved site plans didn’t move into the construction phase in the past five years, according to The Connecticut Scoop.
