“Diane had worked within the Meriden Police Department for almost 27 years,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “She first served the agency within the records unit from 1999 through approximately 2011.

“Then she was laterally trained as the Department’s scheduling coordinator, a challenging position where she was required to track, schedule, and manage more than 120 sworn officer positions, as well as 30 plus civilian support positions. Her job in scheduling further required working with, and the billing of private duty vendors, completing payroll, ensuring grants are billed properly, among dozens of other administrative tasks.

“Diane’s work ethic had been exceptional. She has been well respected among both the sworn and civilian support staff within the agency and she will be greatly missed. Diane is looking forward to enjoying the freedoms that come with retirement, spending time with her family, and enjoying the simple pleasures of life.

“From all of us within the Meriden Police Department, we wish you well and thank you for your service to our agency and to the City of Meriden.”
