Police Seek Driver After Dog Fatally Struck In Meriden Hit-And-Run

MERIDEN, CT — The Meriden Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a hit-and-run driver accused of fatally striking a dog.

Milo, a 15-month-old Chow Chow-Husky mix, was found dead in the middle of the intersection of Mill and State streets at about 4 p.m. Friday, according to police.

A witness told police they saw a black SUV strike Milo while turning from southbound State Street onto eastbound Mill Street. The SUV stopped after the collision before continuing east on Mill Street toward Pratt Street, police said.

Surveillance video showed the vehicle was a newer Chevrolet Tahoe, possibly with a temporary paper registration, according to police.
